Wreck Beach - Clothing Optional
Near UBC (University of British Columbia)
located just west of the main UBC Campus is a beautiful, clothing optional beach that includes a gay section on the main beach and hiking trails which lead to smaller, secluded patches of beachfront should you wish to move away from the main beach area. Located about 33 minutes from downtown, Wreck Beach is accessible by car or public transit. Transit stops for a few minutes at the UBC bus terminus, letting you know it is time to get off.
From here, just walk through the main campus for three or four blocks where you will come to the end of the road and it will be obvious where the trail down to the beach begins. Take the 4 UBC or 10 UBC bus going south on Granville to get there and the 4 Powell or 10 Hastings to return. *Please note that it is a 10-15 minute hike down the steeply inclined path leading down to the beach and that you also have to walk back up upon return.
