Vancouver’s roots are in Gastown, where Gassy Jack opened his first saloon back in 1867. Fast-forward to 2011 to what is now one of the city’s most interesting and vibrant sectors that still has its edge, with upscale boutiques, unique stylish restaurants, art galleries and creative new entrepreneurs, which are transforming this dynamic part of town.
