MARRIAGE PROCLAIMED LAW
It's official!.
At 6:09 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, the Equal Marriage Bill
was proclaimed into law in Canada, making it legal for same-sex couples
to exchange vows from coast to coast.
Two years previously, the Province of British Columbia announced the
legalization of same-sex marriage on July 8, 2003 and as a result hundreds of couples from around the world
have come to Vancouver and other regions of our province to legally exchange vows.
Ceremonies have varied from intimate gatherings with
private couples, witnesses and a Marriage Commissioner in the privacy of
their hotel suites, to private group seaside and garden services, to
full blown large-scale events with all the trimmings. We wish to
congratulate and thank the couples highlighted below whom have
generously allowed us to post photos of their special days and
ceremonies on our website.
Samples of Marriage and Honeymoon packages are also
highlighted below, along with a wide selection of regular hotel rooms
and suites that are book-able via our Hotel Reservations System. We can
also provide references for larger events with group rates, catering and
