On mainstream stages in Vancouver, "Dream Girls" is on at the Stanley Industrial Stage, Club Theatre special features. "Bill Crosby" will be in town, as will "Brent Butt" and "Jay Leno", to name a few. "Les Miserables" will also be touring at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
"Tattoos & Scrimshaw: the Art of the Sailor" exhibit at the Vancouver Maritime Museum has raised a bit of controversy, made national news and even got a feature on the Colbert Report.
On the celebrity concert circuit, "KISS", "New Kids on the Block", "Boyz II Men", "Tony Bennett" and "The B52's" are on the calendar, to name a few. Now is also the time to start planning your trip for Pride and tickets are on sale for "Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake", who will be performing during Pride week. Selena Gomez fans can snap up tickets too.
Of course, there's lots on the calendar in Davie Village and other venues around town, as party animals line up for "Tuesdays @ Celebrities", a new "80's Night" at The Junction, "Cocky Thursdays" at 1181, "Liberace Thursdays" at the fab newly made over Celebrities and Carlotta Gurl's "Absolutly Dragulous" Show at at The Junction (she's just back from LA Pride and will have lots to tell this week).
"Afternoon Tea Dance" by Taffi Louis takes over the Oasis weekly on Sunday afternoon, there's the long running Sunday "Kegger" at the PumpJack and with the warm weather and sunshine, the patios of Davie Village are always packed.
"Project Empty Bowl" is on the calendar, "WESA's Tits and Mitts" kicks off summer and the "Vancouver Men's Chorus - The 60's Show" series will be at Performanceworks. The "Ryan and Amy Show" is back with two full shows, The Shooting Stars Foundation presents "A Unique Wine Tasting", "MYKKI BLNACO #LIVE" is at Celebrities and Big Roger's XOXO with DJ Shane Stiel" and Flygirl's "Hershe Bar" round up June!
Now is also the time think about heading to Seattle for Pride, Victoria Pride and to book your hotels for Vancouver Pride. Also get your Seasons Pass or tickets for the "CruiseyT" Pride Cruises and Flygirl's "Chicks Ahoy Pride Cruise" for women.
